From Jeffrey’s Blog
“There are many paths to enlightenment. Be sure to take one with a heart.” -Lao Tzu
I’m fairly new to Jeff’s Yin Yoga class and totally sold on the style and the instruction. Jeff gets us to push our boundaries while still staying away from of the danger of overdoing it. He teaches us to listen to our bodies and do what’s right for each one of us. And it sure doesn’t hurt that there is always some laughter involved.
Jeffrey Simons creates an environment of unbounded possibility and potential with his genuine acceptance of every student’s abilities. He encourages us to expand our notion of limitation and celebrate the moment – enjoy the pose, breathe, relax and be still. His sense of humour reminds us to live in a more joy-filled world and his yin yoga helps to take us there.
Since starting Jeffrey Simons’ yoga classes in June 2014, my headaches have decreased significantly, particularly my migraines. Jeff’s easy going approach and humorous monologue during the long poses relieves tension and makes for a really enjoyable experience!
My friend Beth recommended I try yin yoga last summer and I have been a fan ever since. Doing less poses, but holding them for longer periods of time, suits me very well and I leave class feeling aligned both physically and mentally. I feel that with yin yoga, I have found something that I didn’t know I was missing.
I love my yoga in the woods! I love Jeff’s easy going attitude also. The classes are well instructed but always fun. Jeff gets you into your pose and keeps you there. He appreciates that we are all different and teaches the class with that knowledge. He has created a space so peaceful and beautiful it is always a pleasure. This month will be one year that I have enjoyed my yin yoga with Jeff. I feel the benefits everyday in the way I stand and the way I think about my movement. Again I love my yoga in the woods!
